Misty Eyes Animal Rescue Shelter

Misty Eyes is an animal rescue shelter that helps pets in need. They give homes to lost animals and provide medical attention for those who require it. In June 2018, we adopted Molly, our basset wire-haired terrier mix, from Misty Eyes for the first time. She was a little over 1-year-old when we got her. In May 2021, we adopted Larry (hound mix), who was four-year-old at the time. Since we previously adopted Molly from Misty Eyes, they let us take Larry home to see if he was a compatible companion for Molly. He has been with us ever since.

Molly's Story

Molly was a run-away lost in Plainfield before she was picked up and eventually rescued by Misty Eyes. When we got her, she was in high spirits, lovable, loud, and fun. She immediately accepted us as her new family. She is full of energy and is always eager to play (especially when we are busy with something). Molly also hates to be left out of a conversation, so she will often interject. She definitely has a wonderful personality.

Molly is very spoiled.

Larry is chilling in his own space.

Larry's Story

Larry needed more convincing to be a part of our family. He was left chained up outside fending for himself among other dogs for his first couple of years of life before he was rescued, so his hesitancy was justified. He was skittish when we first met him, constantly moving away when approached, but eventually he warmed up to us and we brought him home that very day. He is still a little socially awkward, but he has improved significantly since living with and and he is just amazing. He also likes to photobomb when we take pictures.
